Today David Booth and I are in the Catskills, hiking the Long Path south bound for 10 miles from Peekamoose Rd to Riggsville. We will be doing trail inspection and blowdown documentation. It turned out to be a perfect 10 of a day and a respectable 9 for hiking and trail conditions. It’s early in the season so we expected to see blowdowns and we did see quite a few. I didn’t post all of them here, it would be just too boring. We went southbound so that meant we had a steep climb right away but then it seemed all downhill from the ridge. It wasn’t really just felt like it after the big opening climb. We started hiking at 10:30am and finished at 4:30pm, it was a fantastic hike.
