A small group of 5 went out for a short 6 mile hike. We went from the end of Shinhollow Rd. to Otisville Rd. Much of this hike is on a rails-to-trails section with an active railroad very near by, and when they pass through this section they are moving very fast so don’t hike on or near the tracks. Even though the hike was for the most part on level ground there were many different and interesting sights along the way. From natures beauty and sounds to relics from a bygone era to towering electric transmission towers bringing electricity all the way from Niagara Falls. The day started out cold, in was in the low 30’s but with abundant sunshine we all warmed up and enjoyed the beautiful day. So beautiful that when we reached Otisville Rd. Chris and Erik continued up and over Gobblers Knob, about 2 more miles.
It was a great day.
