On Fathers day 6/19/16 Bob Ronsini and I went hiking on the SRT/LP southbound from Rt. 52 to VFW rd. in Wurtsboro, about 10 miles. In addition to just like hiking this section this was also an inspection hike to see the current conditions of the trail.
In many places it was a challenge to even find the trail let alone hike it. With so much of the trail overgrown and with rocks sticking out everywhere, just finding a safe place to step wasn’t easy. Most of the trail needs clipping, a lot of clipping so lets get out there and clip some bushes. If you find you need help, just ask and we will try to find a way to get you the help you need.
The pictures are tagged with their GPS coordinates so you can tell if the picture is from your section.
The blowdown removal will be coordinated by Jakob and myself and we hope to clear them in the near future.
I want to Thank You in advance for all your efforts in help keeping these sections of the Long Path open and an enjoyable place to hike.
